Boardy will Never be TRASH!!!
We are committed to environmental protection and sustainability, so we have designed a scooter that offers:
- long life
- the ability to be repaired at home
- guaranteed parts supply
The Boardy can be taken apart and reassembled at home using only six tools:
- 3, 4, and 5 mm Allen keys
- 8/10 mm and 13 mm wrenches
- tire lever tool
(If you also disassemble the folding stem, you may optionally need an additional 4 mm and a 2.5 mm Allen key.)

The new Boardy is much more durable and resistant to weather and physical stress. One of the main developments in the new Boardy is that the head tube is designed so that the steering column can be replaced from the board in a few minutes without disassembly. This allows the deck to be changed in just a few minutes. Spare boards are available at Boardy.
The wheels are secured with a quick lock, and tire removal only takes a few seconds. Adjusting the brake also takes only a few minutes with the help of this video.
Wheels and brakes are bicycle parts
The wear-and-tear wheel and brake components are standard bicycle parts, so they can be purchased at almost any bicycle workshop. The other parts are available at Boardy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Boardy deck water resistant?
Yes! While the wood itself isn’t naturally water resistant, our upgraded tech (hardwood layers pressed together with waterproof glue under 60 tons + a water- & UV-resistant lacquer finish) makes the Boardy 2.0…
How to Adjust BMX U-Brakes?
In this short video, we demonstrate the correct brake adjustment method of Boardy scooters, focusing on spring tension and arm centering.
What if my Boardy scooter doesn’t roll as smoothly as expected?
If you notice reduced rolling performance, check tire pressure! The recommended tire pressure for Boardy scooters is 4 bar (58 psi).
What makes Boardy different from other kick scooters?
The Boardy stands out as a compelling kick scooter alternative, offering a distinctive riding experience that blends the agility of a scooter with the fluid motion of a board. Its flexible yet sturdy…

Which is better for kick scooters: solid polyurethane (PU) wheels or inflatable tires?
Solid polyurethane (PU) wheels are inexpensive and won’t get flat tires, but they come with several drawbacks. They lack grip when wet, the bearings in their plastic hubs loosen quickly, their load capacity…
How long does it take to change the tube in a flat tire on a kick scooter?
With some experience, changing the tube takes just a few minutes, and for a beginner, it shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes. Boardy scooters feature quick-release wheel hubs, making the process even faster…
Does rolling resistance depend on wheel size or tire width?
While wheel size and tire width can influence rolling resistance, tire pressure plays a more significant role. Properly inflated tires, regardless of their width or diameter, tend to exhibit lower rolling resistance.

Here, you'll find a wealth of useful downloadable resources, including the user manual. We encourage you to read it thoroughly before your first ride!
Is Boardy safe?
By design, Boardy is safer and more stable than an average kick scooter. Its wide deck, low center of gravity, flexible wooden frame, and large pneumatic wheels support controlled, predictable riding.
Unlike electric scooters, which are often associated with higher speeds and increased accident risk, Boardy is considered a very safe form of personal mobility when used properly and at moderate speed.
Despite this, always wear a helmet, and preferably additional protective gear. Responsible riding is essential for safety.
What are sealed industrial bearings?
Industrial bearings are designed to handle high radial loads with precise settings, eliminating the need for adjustment. Sealed industrial bearings go a step further, offering water and dust resistance, making them maintenance-free and highly durable. Though more expensive than traditional bearings, they provide superior performance. Boardy scooters exclusively use these high-quality sealed industrial bearings in their wheel hubs, ensuring high load capacity, low rolling resistance, and maintenance-free operation.
