Our Story
It all began with a desire for the perfect kick scooter.
The first three boardies were handmade by one of our founders for personal use in 2015, with no more intention than creating an all-terrain, ultra-light, yet durable, easy-to-carry scooter, which is comfortable for adults to use on our holidays.
It became clear already on our first trip that passers-by were fascinated by the innovative design and exceptional features of the Boardy. To our great surprise we arrived home with a modest list of potential orders for a product that did not even exist.
Around the world
Within 2 years from the birth of the first prototypes, Boardy started its unbelievable journey around the world, soon reaching four continents!
As of today hundreds of Boardys are used every day in more than 25 countries accross Europe, North America, Asia and Africa.
Difficult years
Having a great vision and a perfect product do not always guarantee immediate success.
Despite the unbelievable success of our scooters, circumstances were not always in our favor, and production had to be suspended in 2021 due to difficulties in our supply chain and financial problems.
We have never given up and refined reorganized our production. We also identified issues with too much complexity of some handmade parts that made production extremely costly and and time consuming. By late 2023 we completely redesigned the Boardy, keeping all its popular features while creating an optimized and reliable production flow.
