Boardy the Boardscooter

How fast can you ride with a kick scooter on a flat road

The speed you can achieve on a kick scooter depends on both your fitness level and the scooter’s design. For safety reasons, we recommend not exceeding 10 mph (16 km/h), but with Boardy, some riders have reached speeds of over 18 mph (29 km/h). During testing, the highest speed we recorded was 21 mph (34 km/h). On average, kick scooting is about three to four times faster than walking, typically around 9-10 mph (15-16 km/h).

Beyond speed, kick scooting offers real fitness benefits. It raises your pulse, engages your core and legs, and supports cardiovascular health. It’s also a perfect example of an exercise snack: a short, effective burst of movement you can fit into daily routines without needing extra time or gym.
